Alrighty, let’s go through this piece by piece.“Ok, he’s not perfect for you…”Correct“So indefinite detention, attacks on the internet and your personal freedoms, illegal wars and the destruction of the economy… are better?”No, they most certainly are NOT better, and that’s why I most certainly am NOT voting for Ron Paul.Let’s see, the economy. Ron Paul supporters love to go on and on about how, with his laissez-faire capitalism and magical gold standard, Ron Paul will SWOOP IN AND SAVE THE ECONOMY. I’ve already pointed out before why this is utter bullshit, so let’s look at the other side of it: this image asserts that NOT having Ron Paul in the white house will spell utter destruction for the economy, and in this post, I’ll detail why that’s bullshit. Obama, who Paul fans, along with the rest of the GOP, like to say is responsible for destroying the economy, has actually been doing a fucking FANTASTIC job of cleaning up the shitty economic mess America’s been heading for since long before he took office. Thanks to Obama’s handling of the economic crisis, we had 243,000 jobs created last month, and our unemployment rate has dropped to 8.3%, the lowest it’s been in over a year, The Dow went up by 157 points last Friday to 12,862 (the highest it’s been since May 2008), all of which mark our TWENTY-THIRD STRAIGHT MONTH of private-sector job growth. So, do some fucking research before you start going on about your magical brand of deregulated capitalism. source: http://www.bls.gov/ news.release/empsit.nr0.htmNext up, Ron Paul’s attacks on personal freedoms. (Not Ron Paul’s defense of personal freedoms) Don’t get me wrong, Ron Paul is all for personal freedoms, so long as you don’t happen to be black, queer, or have a uterus. Like with the economy, I’ve detailed in previous posts why this is bullshit, so lemme just give you the highlights.1.) Again, this image asserts that Ron Paul is your ONLY CHANCE TO AVOID INTERNET CENSORSHIP GUYS. And again, this turns out to be utter shite. Let’s look again at… Obama! The guy who ALSO happened to speak out about internet censorship, and vowed to veto any internet censorship bills that somehow managed to end up on his desk. Seriously, if I can avoid censorship by voting for Ron Paul OR Obama, then I’ll take the one that ISN’T completely insane. (That’s Obama in this instance, for anyone who’s still counting)So that leaves… indefinite detention, illegal wars, and… nope, that’s it. And, here’s the shocker: I agree with Ron Paul on his views ON THESE ISSUES. But having a few views that aren’t utterly moronic doesn’t excuse the rest of your views that ARE completely moronic, offensive, and, if he gets in a position to act upon said views, dangerous. When electing someone to a position as important as President of The United States, you can’t just pick and choose which of a candidate’s policies you like. If you vote for a candidate, you’re putting him in a position to act on ALL of his or her policies, and when the idiotic views vastly outnumber the decent ones, I’m not apt to vote for that candidate, I’m likely to vote for the candidate with the best ratio of good policies to stupid policies, especially if the candidate has already had a term in office and proven that they can handle the position and get shit done. So, in conclusion, and to reiterate, indefinite detention, attacks on the internet and your personal freedoms, illegal wars and the destruction of the economy are NOT better, and that’s why I most certainly am NOT voting for Ron Paul.

Ahhhhhhh, why can’t articulate this to the girl at work who is a huge fan of Ron Paul because he ‘doesn’t take money from lobbyists and his campaign is all grossroots’
